Bob -
A few years ago now, I did something to my heel. Probably Plantar's Fasciitis but I never had it checked. It felt like a spike being driven into my heel. I seriously had heard of the issue before, but always thought it had something to do with a wart. I would hear that someone was not running because of it and I would always think to myself, "why would anyone not run because of a wart on their foot." If anyone ever reads this stuff, I'm just going to tell you that I am going to put my thoughts in quotes because I am not sure how to write it otherwise. So, I am quoting myself. I also don't care about - or forgot how to use - punctuation. Then, I read Born to Run, which is a great book, but it described plantar's, and called it the "vampires bite" of running injuries. Once I knew what it was, I made sure I went out and got it. I think it happened on a hill run. I was feeling great and busting up and down the hills. Busting as much as an old, chunky guy can bust, but I felt fast. I later felt a slight pain in my heel which turned into the railroad spike the next day. I also found that I ran mostly on my heels. A heel striker! In my younger days I was fast. A sprinter who ran on his toes and had a kick like an african antelope being chased by a lion. Not sure if I actually looked that graceful, but I had a weird phobia of being eaten when I ran, so I would dart back and forth in all my races, but that is a story for another day. At any rate, my heel hurt and something had to change, but now I need to get to work and I'll have to finish this story later. The moral of the story up to this point is this. Never give up, be the antelope and don't run with lions if you are a heel striker.
Bob "Fat Lightning" Gazelle. I used quotes to distinguish your nick name, not to show you were thinking. My guess is you won't be using quotes much...
