Being new to writing a blog, I really don't know the etiquette involved here. Am I supposed to write something every day? If so, should it be of some consequence? Does anyone even read it anyway? Since it is pretty much a blog about running, do I have to write about running? These are some of the questions that I have, and there are no easy answers. None at all. The point being this...I hardly ran this week. My work got the best of me and I didn't have the time I needed. Which is a pathetic excuse. There is always time. But, I was up and down a ladder 12,000 times and carrying a bunch of stuff. Still pathetic. I am old and tired. That is just grasping at straws. I have every excuse in the books, but no real good one, because I can always find a half hour. Somewhere. I found about an hour to eat chips and queso. Chips and queso...ah the memories of that. The good thing about running and exercising is that it is not so bad to indulge in chips and queso on occasion. The bad thing about not running and eating chips and queso is obvious. Let's get back to the point of this story, which is as follows. I had a bad running week. I can't get it back. All I can do is make next week better. Tomorrow is what I am going to consider my new week. My schedule says 17 miles. I am going to run as far as my body allows up to 17. My goal really is to get in a good workout and feel strong at the end. If that means 10 miles, or 12, or 9, that is what it is going to be. Then go from there in subsequent days. Maybe one day this week I will do the workout that Ed wrote about. Get my lactic going and finish off with my acidopholus. I like his plan. He is getting faster and younger. If I am going to achieve some of the goals I set for myself, I am definitely going to have to lactate on the speed work.
But I'm not training for a marathon. Dude, that's a long, damn way. But you've done it before so you know it's just running several days a week and making those runs longer and longer. Me I worked to freaking hard as well the last several days so I didn't do my long run over the weekend. Tomorrow morning the alarm is set for 5:00 am and I'm doing 10 miles. So there.
ReplyDeleteMy lactating days are over and they did horrible things to my, my, chest. Rotten kids, but that is a post for another blog. Anywho, I will NOT be doing Ed's lactating plan. I WILL try to enjoy the chips and queso plan more often. How DOES Ed, get faster and younger? I would like to do THAT plan. Can someone write abot that plan?
ReplyDeleteThat's a good question Miss T, how DOES Ed get faster and younger while I get older and slower?! I too would like that plan to be discussed on this blog!
DeleteI need to loose some weight. Do you think that if I start lactating again I might loose the weight? If so i will try it. If I lactate and loose weight I might also get faster, huh? Okay I am in!!
ReplyDeleteI mean I need to lose weight because I have a lot of loose weight.
